What is a craft marijuana cooperative?

A craft marijuana cooperative is a marijuana cultivator comprised of residents of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and organized as a limited liability company, limited liability partnership, or cooperative corporation under the laws of the Commonwealth. A cooperative is licensed to cultivate, obtain, manufacture, process, package, brand, and transfer marijuana to marijuana establishments.

How does the cooperative structure work?

A cooperative is a business that operates consistently with the Seven Cooperative Principles (established by the International Cooperative Alliance in 1995) which include: open and voluntary membership, democratic member control, member economic participation, autonomy and independence, education, training, and information, cooperation among cooperatives, and concern for community.

Greenjeans Farms’ Board of Directors and management team drive business and operations while its Farmer Producer Members contribute land, infrastructure, and resources.
